Exercises For Sciatica

Some workouts may not be suitable if you are suffering from sciatica, this is the main reason why it is advisable to seek advice from your doctor before you perform them. Exercises for sciatica are the best way of eradicating back problems without having to see your doctor.

There are a variety of exercises that you can try to help reduce back problems; this is because sciatica pain usually varies from one person to another. This means you should do different exercises to ensure you eradicate sciatica pain once and for all.

Here are few exercises that are proven to work effectively in reducing sciatica pain.

Forward bending workouts.

These exercises are effective as they help in strengthening your lower back muscles, which is often the source that causes sciatica pain. However, you should remember that these exercises are not your usual bodybuilding workouts; this simply means you should perform them as gentle as possible. You should not be sweating and tired after performing them.

Sit on the floor with your legs an inch apart, lean forward and stretch your hand outwards. Go forward and make sure you are comfortable, don’t worry when you are unable to touch the feet. Overtime, your body will become more flexible once you perform this exercise consistently.

You can also do this exercise while standing, keep your feet at least one foot apart and then bend forward, ensure your back is straight. Gently bend forward until you reach the failure point, this is the point where your cant proceed further. This exercise is effective and helps in relieving sciatica nerve pain.

Stomach exercises

Exercising your stomach muscles helps in relieving back pain, though it doesn’t seem relevant. You can start by performing simple exercises like crunches and leg presses, but it is not advisable to rush into performing these exercises. This is essential to make sure you avoid the risk of strains or injuries.

Expect muscle pain after doing these exercises, this is normal but you should never over work your body, especially if you are just starting out. Exercises for sciatica should be performed gently in order to avoid aggravating the pain.

If you are suffering from sciatica try out the 7 Day Back Pain Cure by Jesse Cannone at The Healthy Back Institute. It is a fantastic way to learn all the correct exercises and techniques for getting your sciatica under control.
